Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Project Engineer to join our team. As a Senior MSP Project Engineer you will join our team and lead the implementation of client-facing technical projects across the Knoxville, TN area. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced MSP environment, is comfortable working on-site with clients, and has a deep understanding of multi-tenant support, project execution, and modern IT infrastructure.  You will be responsible for designing, deploying, and upgrading systems across a wide range of client environments. This includes servers, networking, cloud platforms, cybersecurity solutions, and endpoint technologies

Your work as a Senior MSP Project Engineer has several components: 

  • Function as a hands-on, technical element of client project delivery, including but not limited to: 
  • Client onboardings and offboardings
    o    Network installations and migrations 
    o    Windows server-to-server or server-to-cloud migrations 
    o    Office builds and moves 
    o    MDM/MAM + Conditional Access implementation
  • Collaborate with project managers and account teams to provide regular updates and create and update documentation.
  • Function as an escalation point for resolution of project issues.
  • Travel to client sites across Knoxville for installations, assessments, and hands-on technical work.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, acting as a technical expert and trusted advisor. 

Our ideal Senior MSP Project Engineer has the following qualifications:

   3-5+ years IT MSP experience including a minimum of 2+ years of hands-on project engineering experience (mandatory). 
   Strong experience implementing IT infrastructure projects from design through completion. 
   Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, AD, and common MSP toolsets (RMM, PSA). 
   Solid understanding of CCNA-level networking 
   Ability to work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously. 
   Excellent written and verbal communication 
   Strong aptitude for time and note entry within a PSA. 
   Understanding of predictive and hybrid project methodologies, including roles, responsibilities, and work breakdown structure (WBS) 

Preferred requirements:

   Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, PMI). 
   Specific experience with: Microsoft Azure, 365, and SharePoint 
   Fortinet firewalls
   Windows Server 
   Modern security principals - MFA, SSO, Conditional Access, MDM, MAM 
   ConnectWise PSA
