Managing Director, Capital Solutions

Capital Solutions is a newly formed team within the Capital Markets division of Capital One's Commercial Bank. Capital One Commercial Bank, a top 10 U.S. commercial bank, offers a comprehensive range of investment banking services, including Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Loan Syndications, Structured Products, Mergers and Acquisitions, Derivatives, and Equity Sales, Research, and Trading.

The Capital Solutions team provides specialized capital-raising and capital-markets advisory services to private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies and at times corporate clients. Our mandate spans the full suite of private-market solutions, including:

  • Sponsor-Led Secondary Solutions: Advisory and execution for continuation vehicles, fund restructurings, and liquidity solutions for private equity sponsors looking to extend holding periods for trophy assets.

  • Co-Investments & Structured Equity: Advisory and execution for co-investment opportunities, covering common equity, preferred equity, and junior debt financing structures.

  • Bespoke Financing: Highly tailored capital-raising strategies, leveraging deep investor relationships and bespoke structuring expertise to deliver optimal financing outcomes.

The individual will be a registered representative of Capital One Securities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Origination & Business Development

  • Deal Generation: Lead origination efforts, proactively sourcing and securing mandates across equity private placements, junior capital, and sponsor-led secondary solutions.

  • Sponsor / Client Coverage: Build, deepen, and maintain senior-level relationships with Private Equity sponsors, portfolio company executives, and corporate clients to position Capital One as a premier capital-solutions advisor.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal PE Sponsor Coverage, Corporate Banking, and M&A advisory teams to identify, pitch, and capture warm capital-raise and secondary advisory opportunities.

Transaction Execution & Structuring Leadership

  • Deal Leadership: Serve as the lead senior banker overseeing the structuring, pricing, and execution of complex private market transactions from mandate to close.

  • Sponsor-Led Secondary Expertise: Guide PE sponsors through the valuation, structural, allocation, and LP election processes inherent in continuation vehicles and fund restructurings.

  • Transaction Oversight: Provide strategic direction and senior oversight to deal teams on the creation of institutional-grade marketing materials, financial models, and transaction documentation.

Investor Distribution & Placement

  • Institutional Network: Leverage and expand deep personal relationships with senior decision-makers at Tier-1 institutional investors, including Family Offices, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Pension Funds, Endowments, and dedicated Secondary Funds.

  • Distribution Strategy: Design and execute sophisticated investor targeting and placement strategies to optimize pricing, terms, and execution certainty for clients.

Team Leadership & Platform Growth

  • Talent Development: Mentor, manage, and develop junior team members (Analysts, Associates, VPs), fostering a culture of excellence, high performance, and strict regulatory compliance.

  • Platform Scaling: Contribute strategically to the growth, product scope, and market positioning of the newly formed Capital Solutions team within Capital One Commercial Bank.

Role Requirements

  • Frequent travel is required to lead client pitches, originate new business, and manage key institutional investor relationships.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in strategic and capital raising services

  • At least 10 years of capital advisory experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in M&A or Investment Banking

  • At least 10 years of experience with deal origination

  • At least 5 years of experience managing senior deal execution teams and office leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • CFA charterholder, MBA, or other advanced degree

  • FINRA licenses, Series 7, 79 or 24

  • At least 12 years of experience in strategic and capital raising services

  • At least 12 years of capital advisory experience

  • At least 12 years of experience in M&A or Investment Banking

  • Consistent annual track record of sourcing and closing significant investment banking fee revenue

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York, NY: $350,000 - $350,000 for Managing Director, Capital Solutions











Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
