Network Cable Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Network Cable Technician with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in structured cabling and network wiring. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, running, terminating, and organizing CAT5/CAT6 cabling in both new construction and existing facilities. This role also involves cleaning up and organizing network wiring to maintain a professional and efficient setup around existing network equipment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Run, install, and terminate CAT5/CAT6 network cabling
  • Perform structured cabling work at new and existing sites
  • Test and troubleshoot network cable connections
  • Organize and clean up wiring around network racks, switches, and equipment
  • Label and document cable installations as needed
  • Ensure all work meets industry standards and company quality expectations
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Collaborate with team members and follow project timelines

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in network cabling or structured wiring
  • Experience with CAT5/CAT6 cable installation and termination
  • Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams and installation plans
  • Familiarity with network equipment and cable management best practices
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality required
  • Ability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds and work in various environments, including ceilings and tight spaces

Work Schedule Requirements
Please note that approximately 75% of shifts will be scheduled during early morning hours (starting around 4:00 a.m.) or overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable and capable of working these hours on a regular basis.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience using cable testers and basic networking tools
  • Knowledge of low-voltage systems and installation standards
  • OSHA or safety certification is a plus
