Network Technician AnticipatedJOB STATUS: OPEN POSTING DATE: 09/01/2026 CLOSING DATE: 09/15/2026 04:00 PM POSTING NUMBER: 055026 LOCATION: Admin Technology Services - 731 POSITION TITLE: Network Technician Anticipated
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Serve as a customer support staff member handling on-site technical work to install and maintain computers, technology peripherals, network equipment and software applications throughout the district.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Provide excellent customer service to CISD users.
  2. Address user tickets regarding hardware, software and networking.
  3. Install and upgrade computers, printers, scanners and other peripherals throughout the district.
  4. Install network cabling and network peripherals throughout the district.
  5. Relocate computer hardware, peripherals, and equipment as needed.
  6. Install and configure software as needed.
  7. Assist the network team with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of data communications circuits and equipment.
  8. Diagnose and repair equipment as needed.
  9. Maintain accurate work ticket documentation and close tickets in a timely manner.
  10. Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety procedures.
  11. Follow safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, carrying, etc.
  12. Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to the supervisor immediately.
  13. Respond to after-hours situations as needed.
  14. Maintain confidentiality.
  15. Regular attendance.
  16. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
  • 2 years desktop support experience
  • 2 years networking experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
  • Associate degree in computer hardware / software disciplines, or equivalent work experience
  • A+ computer certification or equivalent computer hardware and software experience
  • Valid Texas driver's license

Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
  • Understanding of network switch configuration and setup
  • Knowledge of computer workstation setup
  • Ability to install and maintain network cables and hardware
  • Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs
  • Excellent communication skills
