Computer Network Architect

Pay Range: $65,000-$110,000/year
About the Role
Our client is seeking a Computer Network Architect to design, implement, and maintain secure network architectures supporting Department of Defense programs. This role is responsible for developing reliable network infrastructure, evaluating emerging technologies, supporting technical refresh initiatives, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity and DoD requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure LAN, WAN, intranet, extranet, and data communications networks.
- Develop scalable network architectures that support mission-critical operations.
- Perform network modeling, capacity planning, and infrastructure analysis.
- Design and implement network security measures to protect organizational assets.
- Lead monthly technical status meetings and provide recommendations on network performance, reliability, and security.
- Evaluate emerging networking technologies and recommend improvements.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute network upgrades and technical refresh activities.
- Support ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of network infrastructure.
- Ensure network designs comply with organizational security standards and regulatory requirements.
- Research and recommend networking hardware, software, and communication technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, 14 years of related experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant networking experience.
- Minimum of 5 years supporting Department of Defense weapon systems development or acquisition programs.
- Experience designing and implementing secure enterprise network architectures.
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, routing, switching, and network security.
- Experience performing network analysis, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
- Strong communication, documentation, and technical presentation skills.
- Ability to evaluate and implement emerging networking technologies.
Clearance Requirements
- Active Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance required.
