Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize AWS cloud environments while ensuring high availability, security, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering AWS infrastructure, monitoring cloud resources, implementing security best practices, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting automation initiatives. This role requires a proactive professional who can effectively manage day-to-day cloud operations while collaborating with engineering and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring availability, performance, and reliability.

  • Provision, configure, and manage AWS resources including EC2, S3, RDS, FSx, EBS, IAM, Route 53, CloudWatch, and Systems Manager.

  • Monitor cloud environments, respond to alerts, and perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.

  • Manage user access, IAM roles, security groups, network ACLs, and AWS security best practices.

  • Support AWS networking components including VPCs, subnets, NAT Gateways, VPNs, Direct Connect, and load balancers.

  • Perform system patching, backup validation, disaster recovery support, and maintenance activities.

  • Assist with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or CloudFormation) deployments and ongoing environment maintenance.

  • Monitor cloud utilization and support AWS cost optimization initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with security policies, audit requirements, and operational standards.

  • Maintain documentation for cloud environments, operational procedures, and configuration changes.

  • Collaborate with engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to support application deployments and cloud operations.

  • Participate in on-call support and production incident response as required.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 4+ years of IT infrastructure experience, including at least 3 years administering AWS environments.

  • Strong experience with AWS core services including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, Route 53, EBS, and VPC.

  • Experience administering AWS networking, including Security Groups, NACLs, VPNs, Direct Connect, and Load Balancers.

  • Experience with AWS Organizations and multi-account environments.

  • Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.

  • Experience with AWS monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.

  • Knowledge of AWS security best practices, identity management, and compliance requirements.

  • Experience supporting production environments and resolving infrastructure incidents.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate (preferred).

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional.

  • Experience with automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

  • Experience with monitoring tools, cloud cost management, and FinOps.

  • Knowledge of Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.

  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale AWS production environments.

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $66,700 - $123,900.
