Who We Are…

Welcome to The Ned NoMad, a members' club and hotel in the heart of Manhattan. As the first international outpost of The Ned, we opened in 2022, bringing the spirit of our London flagship to New York with a distinctly local point of view.

The Property…

Located in The Johnston Building and formerly the NoMad Hotel in Manhattan, the property was built in 1903 as a store and office building. The original architectural features have been honored, with interiors designed by the Soho House Design team.

The Ned NoMad blends original architectural character with a layered, contemporary sensibility. The property includes 167 guest rooms and suites, a rooftop restaurant and terrace, ground-floor restaurant and bar spaces, member programming, and live entertainment, all brought together through a highly personalized approach to hospitality.

The Role…

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to support and report directly to the Director of Finance. This is a fast-moving business, so we are looking for the right individual to be autonomous and be able to pick up multiple tasks and projects.

Our culture is fast paced but supportive, so you must be able to work in synergy with your peers and the different departments around you. Being able to exhibit the highest level of accounting support to all guests, vendors and other departments is a must.

Main Duties…
  • Responsible for preparation of monthly and year-end financial close processes, including journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Prepare daily bank reconciliations, depository account reconciliations, and other treasury reconciliations for daily and monthly journals
  • Oversee payroll, income audit, and accounts payable and receivable duties
  • Review and approve weekly payroll and ensure it is reconciled to the GL
  • Review monthly inventories for accuracy and ensure proper inventory controls are maintained
  • Review purchase orders for accuracy and ensure adherence to established budget and purchasing controls
  • Partner with department heads to prepare monthly financial statements
  • Responsible for the preparation and documentation of certain monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Responsible for reconciliation of all statutory and jurisdictional taxes
  • Record and reconcile intercompany transactions between locations
  • Collaborate with department leaders to ensure accounting policies and procedures are applied consistently
  • Work closely with the purchasing team to ensure expenses are recorded in the proper accounting period
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and analysis as needed
  • Maintain the integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of accounting systems and processes
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as requested by the Director of Finance and/or Managing Director
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2+ years of employment in hospitality accounting management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered
  • Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes is mandatory
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and USALI, with the ability to apply standards in practice
  • Proven success as “champion of the culture,” facilitating excellent communication and engagement. Positive attitude and ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Team focused and flexible to accommodate business demands
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt to communication style to suit different audiences
  • Able to effectively manage different stakeholders and tasks
Our Doors Are Yours to Open…

The Ned is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace that seeks to recruit, develop, and retain the most talented people from a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. We therefore encourage applications from all genders, races, religions, ages, and sexual orientations, as well as parents, veterans, people living with disabilities, and any other groups that could bring diverse perspectives to our business.
