Job description

Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager leads the execution and financial performance of complex commercial and light industrial electrical construction projects. This role provides strategic leadership to project teams, ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget, and serves as the primary point of accountability for client satisfaction and project profitability. The Senior Project Manager mentors project managers and field leaders, drives process standardization and continuous improvement, and collaborates with estimating to align project execution with company strategic objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review contracts and negotiate with general contractors and subcontractors.
  • Lead implementation and training of Procore across project teams.
  • Develop budgets for each project and organize project tasks in a clear, concise project plan that defines all project requirements.
  • Develop baseline schedules reflecting accurate labor, material, equipment, and subcontract time requirements and constraints; measure baseline against actual progress and implement corrective action as necessary.
  • Provide a Schedule of Values for each project and ensure billings and job-cost projections are accurate and on time.
  • Complete project budgets and monitor job cost weekly for accuracy; complete monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports for review.
  • Manage budgets by comparing planned to actual costs and implementing corrective actions; identify and track items by cost codes and cost types.
  • Develop change-order proposals for all changes in scope from contract.
  • Mentor project managers and field leaders and drive standardization of project processes.
  • Promote safe jobsites and enforce company safety standards.

Education & Experience

  • A minimum of 4 years of electrical project management experience on commercial and light industrial projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience in the electrical trade.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex projects and mentoring project staff.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, Procore, and Remarcable.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • A balance of technical knowledge and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and train others.
  • Process-driven, with strong organizational and cost-control discipline.
  • Ability to build relationships with clients and communicate confidently in project interviews.
  • Working knowledge of NEC code and OSHA safety requirements.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Work is split between an office environment and active commercial and industrial job sites.
  • Must be able to walk job sites on uneven terrain, climb ladders and stairs, and access areas under construction.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds; exposure to outdoor weather, noise, and typical construction-site conditions.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all job-site safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and JHA requirements.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites throughout the Northwest Indiana region.
