Your Mission:
Performs non-destructive testing (NDT), including dye penetrant inspections, in accordance with written procedures and applicable codes and standards to ensure product quality and compliance throughout the production process. Supports company safety, environmental, and 5S initiatives while maintaining a strong focus on quality and reliability. Interprets engineering drawings and specifications, conducts inspections at various production stages, and analyzes test data using statistical methods to identify and report deviations. Utilizes knowledge of metal fabrication and construction practices to establish and apply appropriate NDT techniques, while effectively communicating results and supporting continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
Explore the Depth of the Role:
  • Perform dye penetrant inspections in accordance with established procedures and standards
  • Conduct testing and inspection at various stages of production to verify compliance with codes, standards, and specifications
  • Prioritize and support all corporate safety and environmental initiatives
  • Maintain adherence to housekeeping and 5S standards within the quality department
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents
  • Select and inspect products for dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics
  • Record and analyze test data using statistical methods
  • Evaluate results and generate reports identifying compliance or deviations
  • Develop and establish NDT techniques, procedures, and inspection methods as required
  • Collaborate with management to ensure proper application of quality standards
  • Other related duties as assigned

Requirements
Mission Readiness:
  • Sufficient education, training, and experience to ensure understanding of the principles and procedures of those NDT methods in which they are being considered for certification.
  • One (1) year satisfactory performance as a Level I Inspector in the discipline or certification.
  • May require a high school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of related experience. Engineering Degree, 3+ years may be substituted for related experience.
  • Must have required training/experienced hours to certify in accordance with ASNT SNT TC 1A, Recommended Practice as a Level II Inspector for the following disciplines VT, MT, PT, & UT.
  • Working knowledge of metal fabrication and construction techniques
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction (preferred)
  • At least 3 years of experience supporting NAVSEA projects (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of applicable industry codes, standards, and procedures
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Capable of making decisions in alignment with company policies and procedures
  • Must be eligible to obtain government clearance
  • U.S. citizenship required

Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional travel between plants as needed.

Physical Requirements:
  • May be required to stand, walk, sit, reach/pull/push with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel regularly.
  • May lift or carry 50lbs. Weights exceeding 50lbs will require mechanical means to maneuver.
