Job description

The Level II Inspector is responsible for performing calibrations, non-destructive tests (NDT), evaluations for acceptance or rejection and reporting results according to the written instructions or procedures for applicable methods of NDT. The Level II Inspector is expected to adhere all safety and quality policies of Drilling Tools International, Inc.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous NDT Level II Certification in applicable methods (MT, PT, VT) preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in applicable NDT methods (MT, PT, VT) in the Oil & Gas Industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively perform NDT objectives and interpreting results of inspections according to procedures.

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Set up and operation of various types of common NDT inspection equipment
  • Application of testing criteria in accordance with applicable procedures or work instruction and accurate evaluation of NDT results
  • Organize and report NDT inspection results
  • Direct communication with client/customer of NDT inspection results or equipment issues that may affect functionality
  • Instruction and supervision of Inspection Assistants and Inspection Trainees
  • Interfacing with client/customer about work priorities, work progress, and workflow
  • Active participation in client/customer safety initiatives, incident investigations, etc.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assignedby management

Qualifications:

  • Proficient with software applications applicable to the job
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
  • Prior experience in inspection processes for manufacturing
  • Knowledge and ability to use common NDT equipment
  • Reasonable mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometer, gages
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to read and translate drawings, repair procedures and quality documents
  • Basic computer skills in Outlook and Microsoft applications (word, excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to follow all safety and quality policies and procedures
