The Broadcast Operations & Engineering team, part of DTC, Product Operations and Technology Team, is at the core of delivering the NBA's live game experiences and media content to fans and partners worldwide. Our mission is to ensure the highest standards of reliability, quality, and innovation in the production and distribution of NBA content across all platforms.

We oversee the end-to-end production and distribution of NBA content-from live game capture and signal acquisition to encoding, transmission, and global delivery-ensuring reliability, quality, and scalability for hundreds of live events each season. Our engineering expertise supports traditional broadcast partners while enabling advanced streaming solutions for fans in over 215 markets. This oversight occurs within the physical offices, or across our portfolio of global events.

Beyond broadcast, we drive innovation in digital products and services, including personalized viewing experiences, interactive features, and community engagement. Our team collaborates across disciplines to integrate emerging technologies such as cloud-based production, IP workflows, and automation into both broadcast and digital ecosystems.

Looking ahead, AI will be a transformative force across all projects and disciplines-from optimizing live production workflows and enhancing video quality to powering personalization, predictive analytics, and new fan engagement models. By combining technical precision with creative flexibility, we aim to redefine how fans experience NBA content, whether through broadcast, streaming, or immersive digital platforms.

Essential Functions and Job/Position Summary

The Media Administrator supports the Broadcast Operations & Engineering team by managing budgets, vendor contracts, and staffing coordination across broadcast, engineering, and digital initiatives. This role ensures financial accuracy and compliance, facilitates clear communication among internal stakeholders and external partners, and provides logistical support for meetings and NBA tentpole events. The individual maintains organized records and workflows, tracks project progress, and helps resolve issues to keep operations running smoothly.

The ideal candidate is highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong coordination and follow-through skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced media environment. This individual is tech savvy, demonstrating a tech-forward mindset with a strong interest in AI integration, and has proven ability to leverage AI tools for research, content creation, and productivity gains while supporting continuous process improvement and cross-functional collaboration.

In addition to core responsibilities, this position offers stretch opportunities to collaborate with departmental senior leadership, contributing to department-wide projects-both administrative and tactical. These projects may include strategic initiatives, process improvements, and cross-functional efforts that drive operational excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor & Contract Administration

    • Manage annual renewals and event-specific vendor contracts, coordinate vendor onboarding, renewals, and contract execution

    • Liaise with Legal, Finance, and vendors to track approvals and follow-ups

    • Maintain accurate and efficient contract workflows (e.g., DocuSign, contract repositories)

  • Staffing Coordination

    • Partner with HR and Business Initiatives Operations to track project employees and supplemental staff.

    • Maintain accurate distribution lists for Media Operations & Technology.

    • Facilitate effective communication with internal teams and external vendors.

  • Event Support

    • Provide pre-event support for tent-pole events, including travel planning, logistics coordination, credentialing, and other operational needs as required.

  • Departmental Support

  • Leverage AI tools and software to streamline daily administrative tasks, coordinate team workflows, and boost departmental productivity

  • Assist in drafting content, summarizing meeting notes, and conducting research using generative AI platforms

  • Act as an early adopter of new AI technologies, identifying opportunities to integrate them into daily coordination and operations

  • Organize partner meetings, prepare agendas, and manage attendee communications.

  • Coordinate daily business operations across departments to ensure efficiency and consistency

  • Support implementation of operational processes, procedures, and best practices

  • Identify process gaps and assist in operational improvements

  • Act as a point of contact between departments, vendors, and external partners

Required Education/Professional Experience

3-5 years of experience in media operations, broadcast production, or technology administration within a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes

  • Hands-on experience with vendor contract administration, including renewals and compliance coordination with legal teams.

  • Familiarity with financial reporting tools and ability to provide accurate budget projections.

  • Experience collaborating with HR and operations teams for staffing coordination and supplemental workforce management.

  • Strong background in cross-functional communication, working with internal departments and external vendors.

  • Prior involvement in event support for major live productions or tentpole events (e.g., sports, entertainment).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise workflow tools (e.g., DocuSign, project management platforms).

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively within a fast-paced broadcast setting.

  • Must be self-motivated, organized, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing

  • Generative AI Literacy: Familiarity with using AI tools for content creation, brainstorming, and daily administrative support.

  • A continuous learning mindset and eagerness to adopt emerging workplace technologies.

  • High availability at all times of the day, as business needs dictate. Ability to work all shifts associated with 24x7x365 production environments, when current staffing does not allow for adequate coverage

  • Must have the willingness to travel.

Salary Range:

$100,000 - $125,000
