Overview:

Nature Care Landscape, a leading company in the landscape maintenance industry in California, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Vice President of Sales & Business Development to lead our sales efforts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales and business development within the landscape, property management or related industries, with specific experience in direct sales and relationship building. This role involves managing a team of 10 sales professionals with the goal of expanding our landscape maintenance contract sales across the state.
Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the company's growth objectives, focusing on both short-term wins and long-term sustainability.
  • Team Management: Lead, motivate, and manage a 10-person sales team, ensuring they have the training, resources, and guidance needed to achieve their individual and collective sales targets.
  • Sales Execution: Drive the sales process from prospecting and initial contact through negotiation, closing, and post-sale service, with a keen focus on direct sales and relationship building.
  • Industry Networking: Actively engage with industry players, including potential clients, partners, and competitors, to stay informed of market trends, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Client Relationship Management: Foster and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring their needs are met and identifying opportunities for upselling and contract renewal.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track sales team performance against targets, providing regular feedback, coaching, and support to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including operations, and finance, to ensure a cohesive approach to achieving the company's business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Proven Experience: At least 10 years of sales experience in the landscape, gardening, or related industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role managing a sales team.
  • Strong Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and manage a team of sales professionals to achieve exceptional results.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the landscape maintenance market, including industry trends, key players, and customer needs.
  • Sales Skills: Exceptional sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of closing deals and growing sales revenues.
  • Relationship Building: Strong capability in building and maintaining relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively conveying ideas and engaging with diverse audiences.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Horticulture, or related field. An MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred.
