What is a natural burial?

A natural burial, also known as a green burial, is an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional burial methods. It involves burying the body in a biodegradable coffin or shroud without embalming chemicals, concrete vaults, or non-biodegradable materials. The goal is to allow the body to decompose naturally and return to the earth, minimizing environmental impact and conserving natural resources. Natural burials often take place in designated green cemeteries that preserve the surrounding landscape and promote ecological restoration.
