Job description

Partiful's mission is to cultivate friendships through social events.
We believe events are the most effective way to meet new people and make friends. Our product helps you throw incredible events, starting with memorable party pages that make it easy to plan & communicate with guests - download the app to see how it works!
We're building new ways to streamline planning, connect meaningfully in the real world, and make connections between friends-of-friends. Our ultimate vision is to power everything you do in-person with your friends, eliminating the friction of bringing your most memorable experiences to life. You can read more about our mission in The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, Wirecutter, and USA Today. Partiful was named Google's Best App of 2024, a Finalist for Apple's App Store Awards, and Apple's App of the Day (awarded 4x). In 2025, we were named one of TIME's 100 Most Influential Companies, one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies, and named to Inc. Magazine's Best in Business List.
Our company is backed by top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz and Google Ventures, and advised by the founders of some of the most successful consumer social products ever made.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced App Infrastructure Engineer to own and scale the systems that power mobile development at Partiful. You'll build the foundation that enables our team to ship faster while maintaining world-class app performance and reliability. We believe all Partiful engineers should be able to contribute to our mobile apps, and you'll make that possible by building infrastructure that scales with the company.
As our App Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining and evolving our Expo-based development environment, implementing cutting-edge React Native capabilities, and expanding Partiful's presence across iOS and Android surfaces. You'll work at the intersection of developer experience and user experience, ensuring our engineering team has the tools they need while our users get the responsive, native-feeling app they expect. Our mobile stack is React Native, Typescript, Expo, Expo Router (among many other Expo libraries), Reanimated, TanStack Query, Sentry.
What you'll do:
  • Maintain and evolve our Expo infrastructure, ensuring smooth upgrades and optimal configuration as we scale
  • Leverage React Native's New Architecture and latest tooling (React Profiler, etc.) to identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks
  • Build and maintain iOS-specific features like App Clips, Live Activities, and Widgets to create seamless user experiences
  • Work with our close partners at Expo & Software Mansion, by testing out new feature releases and providing feedback
  • Create tooling and infrastructure that improves developer velocity and code quality across the mobile team
  • Establish monitoring and observability systems to track app performance, release health, and user experience metrics
  • Collaborate with both product engineers and other infrastructure engineers to ensure infrastructure decisions enable feature development rather than constrain it
  • Own and continuously improve our weekly app release process, from build to store deployment
  • Join an ambitious team that moves fast, works hard, and loves what we build - plus, attend really cool parties!
What you'll bring:
  • 3+ years of experience building mobile applications with React Native
  • Experience with Expo and managing mobile build/deployment infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of New Architecture, React Compiler, and modern performance optimization techniques
  • Track record of improving developer experience using CI/CD automation, observability systems (such as Sentry), and infrastructure tooling
  • A builder's mindset - you enjoy automating, optimizing, and empowering teams through great tooling
  • Deep sense of ownership and dedication to delivering ambitious outcomes on fast timelines
  • A collaborative, pragmatic approach - you care about outcomes more than ego
What we offer:
  • 401(k) with up to 6% matching
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance for you and all your dependents (FSAs and HSA plans available)
  • Free OneMedical membership, telehealth, and virtual mental health services
  • Commuter benefits & contributions towards ClassPass and Citibike memberships
  • Take what you need paid time off
  • 14 paid holidays throughout the calendar year
  • Parental leave
  • Quarterly stipend to plan your own party and dogfood the product
  • Semiannual team off-sites
  • Get invited to exclusive parties

In your application, please include a note on what excites you about Partiful!
