Title of Position: Group Sales Manager


Compensation: $50k to $60k+ along with 70% bonus potential, based on sales goals.


Job Responsibilities: The Group Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategic group sales plans to drive revenue growth and secure group bookings for the hotel. This position will focus on both managing and growing existing accounts while also identifying new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, outbound sales activity, and disciplined follow-up. The Group Sales Manager will build strong relationships with corporate accounts, associations, sports groups, tour operators, SMERF markets, and other group business segments within the Bloomington and greater Twin Cities market.


Responsibilities include conducting proactive sales calls, site visits, client presentations, contract negotiations, and follow-up communication to ensure sales goals are achieved. The Group Sales Manager will work closely with Revenue Management, Operations, Catering, and Events teams to maximize profitability and ensure seamless execution of group stays and events. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate records in the hotel’s sales systems, preparing sales reports, monitoring market trends, identifying new business opportunities, and staying informed on competitor activity.


The ideal candidate will be coachable, collaborative, strategic, hands-on, adaptable, and relationship-driven. This position plays an important role in supporting the hotel’s overall sales strategy, guest satisfaction goals, and continued business growth.

Qualifications:

The Group Sales Manager should always be able to provide consistent support for the success of the operation

Trust, honesty, integrity, and a true passion for customer satisfaction are requirements for the Group Sales Manager

The Group Sales Manager must be proficient in achieving solid financial results and exceeding guest expectations

The Group Sales Manager must be coachable, collaborative, adaptable, accountable, and hands-on

Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to drive results are required

Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum of 2 to 3 years of hotel group sales experience preferred

A strong Sales Coordinator or Sales professional ready for the next step may be considered, depending on property size, current responsibilities, brand exposure, and market connections

Previous experience in a full-service hotel, resort, convention hotel, or high-volume hospitality environment is a plus

Strong knowledge of corporate, association, sports, leisure, and SMERF group markets preferred

Must be comfortable with prospecting, outbound sales calls, follow-up, and pipeline management

Demonstrated proficiency with hotel sales systems, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite

Exceptional communication, negotiation, organization, and presentation skills

Ability to build strong client relationships, generate repeat business, and develop new accounts

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed
