Job description

DARLINGTON RACEWAY

Darlington Raceway, nicknamed The Lady in Black and the track Too Tough to Tame, annually hosts two NASCAR Cup Series race weekends, along with the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series and/or NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. Opening in 1950, Darlington Raceway is "A NASCAR Tradition" and NASCAR's original superspeedway with its famed 1.366-mile egg-shaped oval, challenging the sports best in one of the most iconic NASCAR races, the Southern 500.

This position will support the Darlington Raceway branded Pace Car at public appearances and promotional events throughout the Pee Dee region and state of South Carolina. Street Team members will responsibly represent themselves as the face of Darlington Raceway to current and prospective customers. This is a temporary, seasonal position, and hours will be dependent on the appearance schedule.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Enthusiastically interact with and educate the public on Darlington Raceway history, information, and ticket opportunities
  • Responsible for loading and unloading the Darlington Raceway Pace Car
  • Ensure the promotional display is appropriately supplied with materials and giveaway items, while maintaining a neat, organized presentation
  • Actively collect prospects for future outreach campaigns
  • Attend in-market events throughout the state of South Carolina for the purpose of maximizing sales opportunities
  • Assist with charitable events held at the track
  • Be knowledgeable about the events held at Darlington Raceway and topical NASCAR storylines
  • Assist in the setup and teardown of the display
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Currently living or attending school in South Carolina
  • Post high school education required or equivalent experience
  • Exceptional work ethic, strong desire to succeed, eagerness to learn, professionalism, and a passion for the sports industry
  • Competitive nature and a contagious positive attitude
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; reliable and dependable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
  • Reliable transportation to and from the track location

Work Requirements

  • May require limited out-of-town and overnight travel
  • Valid Driver's license
