Job description

HOMESTEAD-MIAMI SPEEDAY

Homestead-Miami Speedwayhas been open since 1995 following an initiative to spur economic recovery in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew. The Speedway, which was founded by Miami businessman, racing enthusiast and philanthropist Ralph Sanchez, is a 650-acre facility that features a 1.5-mile oval and 2.21-mile road course. The Speedway hosts on-track events nearly 300 days per year and generates more than $301 million annually for the region. NASCAR crowned champions in all three of its national series at Homestead-Miami Speedway for 18 straight years (2002-19) and will once again host NASCAR Championship weekend in 2026.

NASCAR is seeking a motivated team player who will assist in all phases of the Event Marketing Department. The Event Marketing Associate, based in Homestead, FL, is responsible for a variety of functions in support of the marketing team in promoting Homestead-Miami Speedway events, increasing community awareness, supporting grassroots marketing initiatives, and enhancing fan engagement. This position provides hands-on experience in event marketing, partnership development, social media, experiential marketing, and motorsports promotions.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist with community engagement initiatives throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe, and Palm Beach counties.
  • Research and identify community events, festivals, networking opportunities, schools, colleges, and organizations for Speedway participation.
  • Support the planning and execution of promotional events, activations, and grassroots marketing campaigns.
  • Assist with setup, operation, and breakdown of marketing activations.
  • Represent the Speedway at community events, festivals, sporting events, and promotional appearances.
  • Assist with fan engagement activities and lead generation efforts.
  • Help distribute promotional materials and ticket offers.
  • Capture photo and video content at Speedway and community events.
  • Assist with creating content ideas for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X.
  • Support social media campaigns by identifying trends and local content opportunities.
  • Assist with influencer and content creator outreach.
  • Assist in completing promo items inventory.
  • Assist with the organization of Marketing storage spaces and fleet.
  • Assist with maintaining event calendars and marketing schedules.
  • Record Marketing Data
  • Assist with Special Projects as assigned.

Fall Internship dates are flexible, but at a minimum must cover from June 29, 2026 through October 30, 2026.7 hours a day 3 days a week on a variable schedule, including weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 21 years of age & clean driving record.
  • Currently pursuing a degree or a recent graduate in Marketing, Sports Management, or Hospitality Management.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and willingness to learn how to manage activations, event logistics and preparation, marketing strategies and department operations.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment.
  • Detail oriented, with exceptional communication skills (telephone and in-person).
  • Ability to work long and flexible hours, including all major event weekends and evenings.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of the department and facility.
  • Strong computer skills in all aspects of Microsoft Office - plus if adept in Adobe Creative Suite products.
  • Must be a team player, self-starter, aggressive and professional.
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
