Job description

NPD Engineer (Direct Full Time)

Milwaukee, WI


  • Required degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in new product development, product design, or mechanical engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software
  • Knowledgeable in materials, manufacturing processes, wiring diagrams, and mechanical design
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, sheet metal design, and product assembly
  • Experience with UL certification processes (preferred)
  • Familiarity with sourcing components and vendor coordination (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of new light fixtures using a phase-gate process and 2D/3D CAD tools.
  • Translate product specifications into practical, manufacturable designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, sales, marketing, and manufacturing to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Prepare and verify bills of material and other documentation for product releases.
  • Coordinate product testing, validation, and design verification to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer expectations.
