Job description

Position Summary:

The Seasonal Mutuel Teller is responsible for handling betting transactions at Wyoming Downs Racing. This role requires excellent customer service, strong mathematical skills, and accuracy in handling cash and wagers. The Mutuel Teller must be able to assist both experienced and new players, explaining odds and different bet types while ensuring transactions are processed correctly and efficiently. The Mutuel Teller plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth wagering experience for all patrons at Wyoming Downs Racing. This position requires a combination of customer service expertise, accuracy, and financial responsibility to maintain integrity in the betting process.

Mutuel Manager

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process wagers quickly and accurately, ensuring the correct bet is placed for each customer.
  • Balance cash drawers at the end of each shift; any discrepancies must be resolved before leaving.
  • Multiple unbalanced drawers will result in termination.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service at all times.
  • Explain odds, bet types, and wagering options to new and experienced players.
  • Handle large amounts of cash with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Perform quick and accurate mathematical calculations for payouts and ticket validation.
  • Ensure compliance with all gaming and wagering regulations.
  • Report any suspicious or fraudulent activity to supervisors immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and customer interactions.

Qualities, Education and Experience:

** Required :**

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform quick calculations
  • Friendly and professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to explain betting options, odds, and payout structures to customers
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, especially during race days
  • Must be reliable and able to work assigned shifts, including weekends and race days

Preferred :

  • Experience in racetrack, gaming, or entertainment venue operations

Licensing Status

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any required racetrack credentials or regulatory access permits if applicable.

Working Conditions
