Job description

Overview
Supports and guides nursing staff in daily operations. Assumes responsibility for the unit in absence of unit Director.
Responsibilities
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  1. Collects, summarizes and reports all pertinent data to ensure regulatory compliance. This includes all reports that are required for IDOPH reporting
  2. Assume patient care duties as needed.
  3. Monitors Kronos, develops staff schedules and assignments, editing timecards and assuming other duties of the director as needed.
  4. Ensures optimal patient satisfaction by rounding on patients, intervening if necessary to correct situations and monitoring patient satisfaction scores. Developing corrective action plans if results do not meet established goals.
  5. Provides clinical oversight to assigned patient population to include staff's competency and assignments and scheduling training and development events.
  6. Leads quality improvement initiatives, IE data collection and interpretation as well as design and implementation of action plans as well as staff education regarding quality efforts
  7. Leads efforts in RCA reviews or any reviews into patient care issues
  8. Performs chart reviews and summaries of cases needed for scheduled morbidity and mortality meetings. Represents the LDRP portion of care in presentations
  9. Leads an active role in orientation of new staff to the department as well as defining measures that enhance skill levels and performance
