Position: Assistant/Associate Professor of Athletic Training

Department: Athletic Training

Campus: Fort Wayne, IN, USA

Target Hire Date: June 2026



Join our CAATE-accredited Master of Athletic Training (MAT) program as a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor. This 12‑month faculty role carries primary teaching responsibilities within the graduate athletic training program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service; contribute to an innovative and collaborative academic culture; and serve as a professional role model for aspiring athletic trainers.


What You'll Do:

  • Teach graduate athletic training and related coursework; develop and refine curriculum.
  • Assess student learning and implement ongoing improvements.
  • Maintain professional effectiveness through scholarship, integrity, and current knowledge.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, governance, and committee work.
  • Advise and mentor students; support student organizations as assigned.
  • Engage in scholarly work and present findings through publications or presentations.
  • Contribute to program development, departmental collaboration, and community/professional engagement.
  • Represent the program at professional and community events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


What You'll Need:

  • Doctorate in Athletic Training or a related field preferred.
  • Credentials supporting Assistant/Associate Professor appointment.
  • Current BOC certification and Indiana AT licensure (or eligibility).
  • Ability to teach exercise science and graduate athletic training courses.
  • College-level teaching experience in a CAATE-accredited program preferred.
  • Strong communication, feedback, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods and support diverse learners.
  • Strong organization, time management, and student-centered approach.
