Job description

Maintenance Technician C (I)

Transdev in Baltimore, MD is seeking a C-Level Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles. A Mechanic C must be able to diagnose and repair all vehicles in revenue fleet. They must be able to perform tasks assigned relating to the general repairs of brakes, alternators, water pumps, tires, etc. with minimal assistance from the Mechanics A and B. You must possess your own tools and have a valid Driver's License.

  • $31.32 - $32.32 (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Payscale)
  • Starting pay $31.32 with progression to $32.32 over 1 year

Benefits include:

  • Vacation after 1 year of service:80 hours
  • Perfect Attendance PTO:Eligible full-time employees will receive an additional (32) hours of PTO per year
  • Paid Sick Leave:Employees with less than 1 year of service shall accrue up to 40 hours of sick leave in accordance with the Maryland Healthy Working Families Act and shall be able to start using this accrued time on the 107th day following the employees date of hire.
  • Company paid ASE testing, training materials, and tool reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs and replacements on engines, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Assist A-Level and B-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
  • Executive routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize engine performance.
  • Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for engines.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience as a Mechanic
  • ASE certifications; ASE certification program provided
  • Mechanic's Tool Set.
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

  • Stand for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noice.
