Summary

ย 

The Project Analyst Level II is the Intermediary Level position that provides analytical support within the MTA Construction & Development Project Development Group.

MTA C&D Development plays a pivotal role in determining what, when, and how the MTA builds โ€“ prioritizing capital investments, evaluating project scopes, establishing the project and program budgets, maximizing external funding opportunities, monitoring and reporting on Capital Program performance.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will vary by assignment.

Typical duties may include, but not be limited to, the following:

Assist with data maintenance, analysis, and reporting on topics such as capital program performance and forecasting, project cost and schedule health, project packaging and bundling, and status of project deliverables.

Support the production of reports and dashboards on topics including project award and completion goals.

Support enhancements to current database/reporting tools as well as the transition to a new project management information system.

Implement changes in project databases to support the initiation of new projects and the repackaging/bundling of projects to maximize construction efficiencies.

Maintain data on project schedule milestones, in coordination with project managers (including routine and ad hoc data quality reviews).

Assist in developing, preparing, and updating analytical reports, spreadsheets, and presentations related to capital projects.

Support data-gathering, reviewing, and updating information and documentation in project management systems.

Track the documentation of project scopes and budgets throughout the project lifecycle.

Assist with changes to and rebalancing of the Capital Program to accommodate new project needs.

Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses of capital program performance, evaluate progress vs budget, schedule, and other corporate goals and objectives.

May handle confidential and sensitive information related to capital projects and operations.

Ensure effective communication and function as a liaison with employees at all levels within the department and with other C&D units, as needed.

Education and Experience

ย 

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Urban Planning, Public Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics, or a related field.

Must have a minimum of one (1) year of related experience.ย 

Competences:

Strong analytical skills.

Self-motivated and detail-oriented.

Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with all levels of management and team members.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with sound judgment and discretion.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).

SQL andย relational-databaseย experience preferred.ย 

Proficiencyย with data-visualization/BI tools including Power BI preferred.ย 


Familiarity with MTA capital program management systems (including PSR and IMPACT) preferred.
