Overview

The Waters Advanced Diagnostics (ADx) Division provides globally recognized scientific and commercial leadership in clinical diagnostics, enabling laboratories to deliver high-quality, reliable results that improve patient care.Through workflow-based solutions, the ADx division advances the adoption of LC-MS as a routine diagnostic

technology across global clinical markets.

The Director of Segment Marketing for LC-MS Diagnostics is responsible for defining and leading the global segment market strategy for Clinical LC-MS. This role translates customer, market, and clinical insights into clear segment strategies, value propositions, and portfolio direction. The position works cross-functionally with Product Management, R&D, Marketing, Regulatory, and Regional Commercial Teams to accelerate growth and drive adoption of routine clinical LC-MS solutions

Responsibilities

Define and lead global segment market strategies for Clinical LC-MS, including segmentation, market sizing, growth forecasts, and competitive positioning

Identify priority clinical applications and workflows (e.g., newborn screening, endocrinology, toxicology,therapeutic drug monitoring) where LC-MS delivers clear clinical and economic value.

Develop and maintain segment roadmaps aligned with business strategy, product portfolios, and regional market needs

Own and drive value-based segment propositions, positioning, and messaging that articulate differentiation versus comptitive technologies and solutions.

Partner with Product Management, R&D, and Applications to influence menu strategy, workflow design, automation priorities, and kit development.

Provide market and segment input into new product introduction (NPI) activities, lifecycle management, and portfolio optimization

Support development of commercial enablement tools, including segment playbooks, opportunity sizing models, and customer value frameworks.

Support major product launches, sales kick-offs, customer symposia, and key account engagements with segment expertise.

Monitor and assess market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory drivers (e.g. IVDR, FDA, NMPA) impacting Clinical LC-MS adoption.

Qualifications

Education:

Degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or related scientific discipline.

Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) preferred

 

 Experience:

Proven experience in clinical diagnostics, IVD, or clinical LC-MS markets

Demonstrated leadership in segment marketing, market strategy, or solution marketing within a global organization

Strong understanding of clinical laboratory workflows and adoption drivers for routine diagnostics

Experience influencing product portfolio and innovation strategy through market and customer insights

Proven ability to work effectively in matrixed, cross-functional environments

Experience supporting global or regional sales organizations

 

Competencies:

Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to interface effectively with Senior Director, VP, and SVP-level stakeholders

Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen
