Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cloud Data warehouse design on AWS
  • Data modelling, logical design and Physical design
  • Producing detailed design documentation
  • Implementing data warehouses on AWS using Redshift technology
  • Migrating existing on premise DW to AWS using Redshift as target DW
  • ETL design and implementation on cloud
  • Optimal data transport from on premise systems to AWS
  • Act as an advisor to the client in DW technologies and best practices especially as it pertains to cloud
  • Securing sensitive data on the cloud
  • Implementing access control and connectivity from Redshift to consumer applications (analytic software and custom applications)
  • Redshift Performance analysis and tuning
  • Implementing backup and recovery of cloud DW
  • Leading the technical team (onsite+ offshore) in executing DW implementation or migration to cloud Including technical leads, engineers, BI engineers

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 10+ years' experience in DW architecture and DW implementations
  • 2+ years' experience with implementing DW on AWS Redshift
  • DW Architecture and Design
  • DW sizing
  • Implementation
  • Data integration/ ETL
  • Experience integrating a wide variety of data sources
  • Strong experience with commercial grade databases (i.e. Oracle, MS SQL Server)
  • Experience with major analytics software
  • Presentation skills; high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences.
  • Strong written communication skills; this role will require the creation of content such as design documents, recommendations and other written deliverables.
  • High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations and interacting with VP level client stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
