The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working with production teams, vendors, drivers, and warehouse personnel in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily outbound shipments and incoming material deliveries while maintaining current and future shipping schedules.
  • Work with production teams to confirm fabricated materials are complete, identified, staged, and ready for shipment.
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, delivery tickets, load lists, destinations, appointment times, quantities, piece marks, weights, and special delivery instructions.
  • Receive structural steel, fabricated components, fasteners, equipment, consumables, and other materials while verifying deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Report shortages, damaged materials, incorrect shipments, late deliveries, or scheduling issues to minimize production delays.
  • Enter shipment and receiving information into company systems and maintain organized records, including proof of delivery.
  • Coordinate safe loading and unloading activities with truck drivers and authorized forklift, crane, rigging, and shop personnel.
  • Maintain clean, organized staging, storage, and traffic areas throughout the facility.
  • Assist with inventory verification and recommend improvements that reduce material handling, damage, transportation costs, and delays.
Required Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, logistics, material control, manufacturing, construction, or a related industry.
  • Experience working with purchase orders, bills of lading, packing lists, delivery paperwork, material identification, and quantity verification.
  • Proficiency using email, spreadsheets, shared scheduling tools, data entry systems, and ERP, inventory, or logistics software.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and effective communication.
  • Ability to solve problems, adjust priorities, and remain organized in a changing production environment.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and the ability to work in both an active fabrication shop and outdoor yard.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in structural steel fabrication, miscellaneous metals, construction materials, or heavy manufacturing.
  • Experience using Tekla PowerFab or similar ERP, MRP, inventory, or transportation management software.
  • Familiarity with load planning, fabricated-piece identification, delivery sequencing, and material traceability.
  • Experience operating or working around forklifts, overhead cranes, rigging equipment, or other material-handling equipment. Company training and authorization are required before operating equipment.
What Success Looks Like
  • Shipments and deliveries are organized, accurate, and completed on schedule.
  • Shipping documents, inventory records, and system entries remain accurate and up to date.
  • Materials are staged, stored, and handled safely while remaining easy to locate and trace.
  • Production teams, drivers, vendors, and project personnel receive timely communication regarding schedules and delivery changes.
  • Efficient material flow helps reduce delays, unnecessary handling, and transportation costs.
Work Environment

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Hanover, PA. The role requires working between an office, fabrication shop, shipping areas, and outdoor yard. Early start times, schedule adjustments, and occasional overtime may be needed to support operational demands.
