Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Assistant LTR Coordinator will initiate the ripening process on Chiquitas LTRs. They will also learn and be able to fill in the LTR Coordinators absence.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Initiate and manage the ripening process
  • Perform essential job duties outdoors in varying weather conditions while adhering to safety guidelines
  • Operate and utilize Chiquitas MCS system
  • Manage ethylene inventory levels
  • Monitor and adjust oxygen (O), carbon dioxide (CO), and other ripening parameters
  • Support and assist operations as needed
  • Retrieve reefer data recorder information as requested
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety and follow all company policies and procedures
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School graduate or GED
  • Physically able to climb a ladder (the height of a container to close vents).
  • Must be able to lift and move about 50 lbs.
  • Detail oriented
  • Multi-tasking capabilities
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Computer literate
  • Microsoft Excel knowledge a plus
  • Strong communication skills
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
  • Ability to perform essential job duties outdoors in varying weather conditions with minimal supervision, while adhering to all safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to analyze data and make necessary process adjustments based on readings and customer requirements
  • Must be capable of moving equipment throughout a 30-acre yard and initiating the ripening process for approximately 2050 containers daily
  • Availability to work rotating weekends as required
