Dell Technologies is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Laptop Architecture Team, where innovation meets leadership. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives on solving complex challenges, guiding high-performing teams, and shaping the future of mobile computing.

What you'll achieve: 

As a Senior Principal Electrical Systems Architect you'll lead the electrical architecture and technical strategy for next-generation laptop platforms while guiding engineering teams through all phases of product development. You'll drive advanced investigations, technology assessments, and prototype development, ensuring alignment with product architecture, business objectives, and long-term platform strategy.

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders and engineering teams to identify and resolve technical risks, maintain clear paths to productization, and deliver high-performance, reliable, and cost-effective solutions across Dell's commercial, consumer, and workstation laptop portfolio. You will also leverage data, dashboards, and engineering insights to improve development predictability, product performance, and execution efficiency, helping drive innovation and successful product outcomes.

Essential Requirements:

  • Deep expertise in analog and digital circuit design, high-speed interfaces (e.g., PCIe, USB4, DDR5, DisplayPort), and power delivery

  • Strong understanding of system-level trade-offs across electrical, mechanical, thermal, firmware, and BIOS domains

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive complex programs to completion

  • Recent experience in schematic capture and PCB motherboard design

  • Experience mentoring engineers and fostering team development

Desirable Requirements: 

  • Typically requires 12+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor's degree; or 8+ years with a Master's degree; or 5+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience

  • Experience in laptop and mobile system architecture, collaborating with global engineering teams and ODM partners, and utilizing industry-standard simulation and design tools such as Cadence, SPICE, and SI/PI analysis tools to develop and validate complex hardware solutions

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $199,750 - $258,500.
