Join the MVT family!!! Mesilla Valley Transportation is hiring Dedicated On-Site Account Manager in El Paso, TX!
The Dedicated On-Site Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact and is responsible for managing the relationship with a key customer in El Paso, TX. This role will be responsible for supervising approximately 10-13 dedicated truck drivers. This involves effectively communicating with the key customer, understanding their needs and concerns, and addressing any issues that may arise.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:00pm
Responsibilities:
  • Provides and communicates accurate information internally and to the customer while maintaining 100% satisfaction in service.
  • Accurately update information into systems via computer.
  • Ensures all orders are closed properly for billing; 214's updated through EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and customer websites when applicable.
  • Reviews and finalizes customer updates through EDI regarding order cancellations and location updates.
  • Ensures that every customer load is planned, tracked and on time to avoid any potential issues over the weekend.
  • Communicates in a clear and consistent manner with high integrity.
  • Provides clear work instructions to drivers.
  • Directs drivers and company resources in a manner that maximizes utilization of both.
  • Key supporter for drivers supervised.
  • Organizes and assigns productive drivers to the most efficient routes to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Continuously monitors and directs the arrival and departure of loads and drivers.
  • Assigns drivers to units and maintain truck/trailer performance by increasing truck miles to improve profitability.
  • Monitors satellite communication to determine hours of driver service and to resolve driver log issues.
  • Analyzes and monitors the work quality, safety quality, attendance/punctuality, and behavior of drivers, disciplines when necessary.
  • Controls expenses such as layover/motel reimbursement and unloading/advances.
  • Manages trailer pools for designated customer.
  • Maintains direct contact with members of the organization to coordinate and increase the efficiency driver, truck, and trailer assignments.
  • Understands the area customer KPIs such as the trailer pool requirements, service numbers, commitments (Lanes/Volume and transit).
  • Collaborates with the pricing, sales, and account management teams.
  • Works with customers directly to discuss accounts and may conduct in-person meetings if necessary.
  • Audits load boards to adjust throughout the day and locates exceptions to protect service and reduce cost.
  • Continuously improves metrics to include on-time delivery/pick-up, utilization of assets, and increasing monthly revenue.
Supervisory Responsibility
Directly supervises two or more employees. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience in management, operations, and leadership.
  • Extensive knowledge of supply chain network and operation.
  • Excellent written and communications skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
