Job description

Louisiana Bridge Builders (“LBB”) is designing and building the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana (USA) for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). LBB will also be responsible for the reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.5 mile stretch between I-210 West End and Ryan Street.

POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY

The MOT Foreman is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by planning, organizing, and executing the day-to-day onsite Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) of the project.

LOCATION

This position is based in Lake Charles, LA.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Subject Matter Expert (SME) for onsite Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) activities.
  2. Supports and aids with MOT subcontractors onsite.
  3. Oversee the daily MOT activities, ensuring they are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with standards and regulations.
  4. Maintain daily operational logs to meet MOT activities to ensure compliance with the contractual agreement.
  5. Assistance with the preparation of the MOT reports for Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development (LADOTD) and the Developer.
  6. Track and analyze equipment and facility performance data to identify issues, enhance efficiency, and improve reliability.

  8. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  9. Quickly respond to breakdowns or emergencies, mobilize resources, and implement corrective measures to restore operations safely.

  11. Assists in maintaining compliance in terms of MOT works.
  12. Participates in safety and environmental programs and ensures compliance with environmental regulations.
  13. Lead a high-performing team through coaching and top-tier talent retention.

  15. Supervises team, including training, providing work direction, problem-solving assistance, recommending salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, and terminations.
  16. Maintain an inventory of tools, parts, and consumables, ensuring critical spares are available to avoid operational interruptions.
  17. Prepare and submit a daily activity report.
  18. Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  8. Ability to maintain a valid and current driver’s license.
QUALIFICATIONS

At a minimum, the MOT Foreman must have a high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 10+ years of relevant civil experience within concrete, structures, roads, and/or marine and 3+ years of experience as a Foreman or other leadership role in field operations, while being responsible for leading and managing a multi-discipline work force on a large-scale project. The MOT Foreman must also possess a valid and current driver’s license.
