Job description

North Point Technology is looking to hire a Cloud Engineer to support a cutting-edge geospatial intelligence and data management program serving national security missions. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Responsibilities:
The Cloud Engineer will oversee cloud computing strategy including cloud application design, management, and monitoring, and will develop and implement product development strategies using agile processes. The role involves delivering IT solutions across PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS models, analyzing complex environments, and designing pragmatic architectures. The engineer will work across conceptual, logical, and physical hardware and software designs and develop solutions using dynamic scripting and programming languages.
Required Skills/Experience:
  • Object-oriented programming (OOP) building enterprise-level applications using established design patterns
  • Multi-tiered or microservice application development
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
  • Containerization using Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
  • CI/CD pipeline implementation using GitLab CI or Jenkins
  • Shell or general-purpose scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, Perl, PowerShell)
  • Linux system administration and usage

Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Experience supporting U.S. government agencies
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud services
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, or CloudFormation
  • Deploying and maintaining Kubernetes distributions
  • GitOps tooling including GitLab and ArgoCD
  • Monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or ELK Stack
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes
