Job description

Title- Field Leader II

Location- Kentwood, Michigan

Duration- 5 Months

Job Details:

The Field Leader II - Electric Contractors Supervisor (ECS) is being designed as a growth and development position.

This position will report directly to the Manager/Sr Manager of LVD Contractor Management and be mentored by an experienced Electric Contractors Supervisor.

The individual must also support the other ECS' statewide.

They will be expected to fill-in for other ECS' when such need arises (vacation, illness, out of town assignments, etc.).

This individual may be expected to work various shifts based on needs of service.

Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, regulatory compliance and oversight of electrical work to assure completion of field construction, maintenance, service and emergency restoration in a safe and cost-effective manner.

Direct responsibility for contractual oversight, including reconciliation of pay items. Involves management and inspection of contract work to include interfaces with other utilities or agencies, assisting in developing switching and tagging orders related to work performed by non-company crews and field verification of work completion to contract specifications. Work may involve multiple shifts and or

unusual hours, including on-call assignments to support the work and /or storm restoration as needed.

Skills:

The successful candidates will demonstrate basic knowledge and application of work methods, work processes, and related technology in the field of Electric Operations. The work is varied, basic in nature,

with developmental projects, applying skills such as analysis, planning, design, research, project scope, cost schedule,

coordination, trouble-shooting technical issues, facilitation, communication, and/or negotiation with customers or outside

agencies to complete small projects or portions of larger projects. The successful candidate will possess skills and knowledge and application of contract management practices, problem solving using lean methodologies, skilled in relating to union employees and leadership, and basic understanding of emergent/unplanned service restoration to the LVD system.

This position will be filled at the level commensurate with the selected candidate's skills and education using the Electric Contractors Supervisor job description.

Education:

Construction or Technical related field.

High School Diploma/GED Required.

AA/Bachelor's Degree- Preferred
