Job description

Transit Technician

Starting salary: $20.00 per hour, rising to $20.50 after passing required certification (approx. 6 months).

Responsibilities:

  • Perform corrective and preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and adjustments to all train โ€œmonorailโ€ systems and components of an electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic nature
  • Repair or replace defective parts utilizing manuals, drawings, specs, or other written or verbal instructions.
  • Applies technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve problems using diagrams, schematics, engineering data and test equipment

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of electronic and/or mechanical experience, or equivalent technical school training
  • Must have excellent electronics and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to maintain detailed records of troubleshooting and repairs
  • Ability to work holidays and weekends
  • Valid Nevada driver's license Must be highly dependable
  • Must be able to communicate in written and spoken English (for safety reasons)
  • Ability to work day/swing/night shift
