Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Monitor Technician, you will assist the nurse and/or physician in providing support to the unit as assigned and supervised by the nurse. In this important role, you will monitor surveillance and documentation of cardiac rhythms and will provide communication of patient needs to the appropriate caregiver.

What you will do in this role:

  • You will observe for changes in heart rate, rhythm, or other centrally monitored parameters, reporting significant events to the nurse or Charge Nurse.
  • You will admit/discharge patients from monitoring system.
  • You will maintain accurate telemetry transmitter monitor log books.
  • You will manage the inventory of telemetry transmitter monitors.

What qualifications you will need:

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Specialty training is preferred specifically in EKGs.
  • Preferred prior experience in healthcare or clinical setting
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
