Kroger is seeking a strong User Experience Interaction Designer specifically with Advertising/Brand/Creative experience to specifically support the Precision Marketing teams. Their end goal is to make advertising spots come to life. They will be utilizing the experience for the advertising platforms. Examples of products and opportunities they are thinking through are picturing a burger with a flag in it - they could templatize that asset and repurpose the flag for several different brands like Heinz, their own brands like Simple Truth, etc. We are seeking a Level 12 Advertising Experience Designer (Contract) to support the rapid integration of Kroger Precision Marketing (KPM) into our digital customer experience. KPM is a critical business driver, and this role will focus on execution and acceleration—translating advertising and monetization goals into scalable, customer-first design solutions. This designer will partner closely with Product, Monetization, and Design to ensure advertising is embedded seamlessly into the experience, enabling both customer value and business growth. Core Qualifications 5+ years in product design, UX, or digital experience design Demonstrated ability to translate business goals into user-centered solutions Strong foundation in: Interaction design Visual hierarchy Conversion-oriented design Experience working in cross-functional product environments (preferred) Experience with digital advertising ecosystems, including: Google Ads / DV360 / Ad Manager Amazon Advertising Retail media networks Familiarity with: Sponsored products, display ads, native advertising Auction-based systems and ad serving logic What Sets You Apart Proven impact on customer engagement in advertising or monetization experiences Experience designing revenue-driving or conversion-focused features Background in agency or brand advertising environments Key Responsibilities Design Customer-First Advertising Experiences · Design advertising experiences that are intuitive, relevant, and integrated into the customer experience Ensure ads supports discovery, decision-making, and conversion Reframe advertising as part of the end-to-end customer journey, not an interruption Ensure all new and existing experiences can accommodate monetization opportunities Design for Scale & Commercial Viability Create repeatable, standardized ad components (not one-off solutions) Design for relevancy at scale, not static placements Ensure formats are: Sellable to brands Buildable at scale Consistent across surfaces Partner with monetization teams to align design outputs with commercial strategy Note to Vendors Top 3 Skills: Customer-first advertising experiences Monetization and conversion-oriented design Scalable, repeatable ad systems Project: Alternative Profit: KPM within Seamless Experience Summary Notes: • Supports Kroger’s marketing team and advertising monetization strategy. • Focus on: o Bringing ads to life within the digital experience o Working with reusable components o Translating marketing needs into design (e.g., ad imagery, promotional assets) • Needs someone with: o Agency background o Marketing/brand design experience o Retail experience o Google Ads experience is a plus • Location: Local preferred for collaboration (Blue Ash / HQ / 84.51), but
