Job description

Direct Support Professional The primary purpose of a DSP is to assist people who need support to lead self-directed lives and to participate fully in our community. As a DSP, your week will be filled with rewarding opportunities to help people with disabilities live rich, active lives. Hours: Primarily Monday through Friday daytime hours, this position works five, eight hour shifts Wage: $20.00 per hour On any given day you may:
  • Go to local sporting events, concerts, movies, restaurants
  • Participate in goal planning and implementation
  • Encourage and support people in learning new skills and attending various classes
  • Support people to appointments or do fun things in the community
  • Help people you support prepare meals, cook, clean, eat, take care of personal hygiene, and other daily living skills.
What are the Background Qualifications to Become a Direct Support Professional? Qualifications:
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid drivers license
  • High School Diploma
  • Post-secondary education and/or relevant experience is a plus
  • Qualifying background check and drug screen

  • Advocating for people by supporting them to live their best life
