POSITION SUMMARY:
Advanced Energy is seeking students pursuing an associate's degree or certificate in Electronics Technology for part time internships to learn how to perform repairs, test and troubleshoot electronic equipment to meet production schedules and performance standards. This position will receive instructions on daily work and new assignments. Duties and tasks are standardized but work performed will vary day to day.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform various mechanical assembly and repair operations on electronic components and sub-assemblies
  • Use Operational Method Sheets, Service Kits, drawings, schematics, and verbal/written Technician instructions to repair, modify, rework and re-assemble units
  • Use assembly equipment such as: torque drivers, soldering irons, hand tools, hydraulic presses, ovens, lifting systems and chemical baths
  • Determine and implement any additional non-break services that may be required during the repair process
  • Use test procedures, drawings, schematics, and verbal/written instructions to test and troubleshoot units
  • Work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where the ability to recognize nonconformities is required
  • Communicate openly and effectively in a professional manner
  • Understand and follow all safety requirements
  • Understand and follow all International Standards Organization (ISO) practices and procedures
  • Maintain fixturing, performs calibration, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance
  • Perform the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies
  • Document test results accurately
  • Model professional and positive work ethics
  • Consider the impact of quality on the customers when making decisions
  • Effectively work in a team environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Work in a manufacturing environment which may be noisy and fast paced
  • Many tasks are repetitive in motion and include the use of electronic assembly equipment
  • Overtime (OT) may be required in times of increased production

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Standing 40%
  • Walking 20%
  • Sitting 40%
  • Carrying 30lbs max
  • Pushing 50lbs max
  • Lifting under 35lbs unassisted and over 35lbs with assistance

EXPERIENCE:
  • Previous experience in electrical circuits and assemblies testing preferred
  • Basic knowledge of electro-mechanical testing and circuit analysis
  • Proven ability and experience maintaining flexibility and being able to adapt in a team environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of ESD practices preferred

EDUCATION:
  • Currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college program

COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $20.00 to $22.00 per hour.
