About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-driven Molecular Technologist to join our overnight laboratory team in Union, NJ. In this role, you'll perform complex molecular diagnostic testing โ including PCR, nucleic acid extraction, and sequence analysis โ that directly supports accurate, timely patient diagnoses. This overnight position is critical to keeping our lab's turnaround times fast and our quality standards high around the clock.

What You'll Do
โขย ย ย ย ย ย Perform molecular diagnostic testing, including PCR, RT-PCR, nucleic acid extraction, and amplification
โขย ย ย ย ย ย Accurately prepare, process, and analyze patient specimens following established protocols and SOPs
โขย ย ย ย ย ย Operate, calibrate, and maintain molecular testing equipment and instrumentation
โขย ย ย ย ย ย Interpret and validate test results, escalating abnormal or unclear findings appropriately
โขย ย ย ย ย ย Document testing data, QC results, and patient information accurately in the laboratory information system (LIS)
โขย ย ย ย ย ย Perform and monitor quality control and quality assurance procedures to ensure testing accuracy
โขย ย ย ย ย ย Troubleshoot instrument and assay issues, escalating to supervisors or technical support as needed
โขย ย ย ย ย ย Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant overnight laboratory environment
โขย ย ย ย ย ย Adhere to CLIA, CAP, and all applicable regulatory and laboratory safety standards
โขย ย ย ย ย ย Communicate effectively with day-shift staff to ensure seamless handoff and continuity of testing
What We're Looking For
Required
โขย ย ย ย ย ย Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field
โขย ย ย ย ย ย Relevant clinical laboratory certification (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent) preferred
โขย ย ย ย ย ย Hands-on experience with PCR, molecular assays, and nucleic acid testing methods
โขย ย ย ย ย ย Strong understanding of laboratory quality control, CLIA, and CAP compliance standards
โขย ย ย ย ย ย Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently during overnight hours
โขย ย ย ย ย ย Strong documentation and data entry skills
โขย ย ย ย ย ย Ability to work MondayโFriday, 11:00 PM โ 7:00 AM consistently
You'll Stand Out If You Have
