    Summary: Sets up and operates injection molding machines to mold plastic by performing the following duties:
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Rigs specified mold sections into machine using designated equipment (gantry system, forklifts, mold trucks etc.).

  • Bolts mold sections into position and adjusts die height.

  • Connects water hose to cooling system of mold.

  • Installs all other related mold components (eg, core cylinders, slides)

  • Brings fixtures associated with mold to machine. Sets up same.

  • Preheats die sections with water or oil heater as required.

  • Cleans area around molding machine after installation has been completed. Wipes up any water, grease on the floor.

  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.


    Supervisory Responsibilities
    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
    Competencies
    To perform the job successfully, an individual should have mold setting experience and can demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Interpersonal Skills - ability to work and communicate with coworkers and supervisor

  • Teamwork - Ability to work side by side with another mold setter, and take direction from that person, while completing mold installation

  • Safety conscious / Judgement - Being conscious of surroundings (people and equipment) and take all precautions when handling mold and installing in machine.

  • Motivation/Flexibility - Able to move from job to job with little/no supervision required. Works from a list given at start of shift. May work in other departments as required. Will be cross trained to assist with mold PM's.

  • Attendance/Punctuality/Dependability - Being on time every day and able to complete designated assignments as required.

  • Mechanical Aptitude - Understanding of basic hand tools required. Employee must supply their own hand tools and / or tool box.
    Expected hours: 40.0 per week
