Job description

As a Mold Machine Operator the foundry, you have the opportunity to observe continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications and to detect jams or malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Measures and visually inspects products for surface and dimension defects in order to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
  • Move and position work pieces, such as mold sections, patterns, and bottom boards, using cranes, or signal others to move work pieces.
  • Position patterns, inside mold sections and clamp sections together.
  • Lift upper mold sections from lower sections and remove molded patterns.
  • Set up, operates, or trends metal or plastic molding, casting, or core making machine to mold or cast metal or thermoplastic parts or products. 
  • Turn valves and dials of machine to regulate pressure, temperature, and speed and feed rates, and to set cycles times.  
  • Remove finished or cured products from dies or molds, using hand tools, air hoses and other equipment, stamp identifying information on products when necessary.

  • Ability to stand up to 10 hours per day
  • Ability to use both hands and feet up to 10 hours per day
  • Constant awareness of surroundings
  • Ability for some pushing/pulling/lifting (up to 50 lbs)

  • Starting pay rate $26.20 with a $2.00 shift differential for 2nd, or $2.50 for weekends
  • Standard shift Monday-Thursday or Friday-Sunday
