Who You Are

We are seeking a mechanically skilled Encapsulation Mechanic/Machine Operator to set up, operate, clean, maintain, and troubleshoot soft-gelatin encapsulation machines, pumps, and related equipment. This position ensures consistent and efficient production of soft gelatin capsules in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), and safety standards. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain equipment performance to meet production quality and quantity standards.

What You'll Do
  • Set up, operate, assemble, disassemble, and clean encapsulation machines and pumps according to SOPs.
  • Install and set up pumps, gelatin pipes, fill pipes, hoppers, and related machine components.
  • Troubleshoot pump and machine issues and perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments.
  • Monitor fill time, pressure, material flow, and equipment performance during production.
  • Inspect pumps and components before installation to ensure they are clean and production-ready.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and help reduce equipment downtime.
  • Support machine changeovers, full cleaning, and reassembly of production equipment.
  • Prepare clean pumps, pipes, and components in advance for upcoming production runs.
  • Maintain standby pumps and ensure they are cleaned, inspected, and ready for use.
  • Maintain pump spare parts and communicate replacement needs to supervisors.
  • Coordinate with QA, Maintenance, and Production to resolve equipment and cleanliness issues.
  • Complete batch records, equipment logs, cleaning records, and maintenance documentation accurately.
  • Operate encapsulation machines as needed and provide break coverage for operators.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all SOPs, cGMP, FDA, safety, and PPE requirements.
  • Assist with training and supporting new operators or mechanics as needed.
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in encapsulation, injection molding, tablet operations, or other mechanical/machine operation roles.
  • Fluent English communication skills to read/interpret SOPs, complete documentation, and communicate issues effectively.
  • Manual dexterity for handling tools and assembling/disassembling equipment.
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand/walk for most of the work shift and perform repetitive operations.
  • Periodically push/pull large containers (up to 500 lbs with wheels) and lift items up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels, warm temperatures, and oily/wet conditions-hearing protection and slip-resistant footwear required.
  • Must wear required PPE, including protective eyewear, gloves, uniforms, hairnets, and steel-toed shoes.
  • Must be able to perform job duties safely without endangering self or others.
