Job description

Your challenge
• Perform mold repairs based on root cause analysis, per SOP, and supervisor's direction. Follow applicable checklist and use proper documentation on actions taken. This includes troubleshooting product quality issues, tool disassembly, swapping out defective components, troubleshooting hotrunner issues, and polishing mold components. Repairs take place in the shop or at the molding machine.
• Perform preventative mold maintenance in accordance with SOP and applicable checklist, to ensure on time delivery and completeness. Always documenting detailed and correctly. Mold PM includes disassembly/reassembly of tools, visual inspection for damage, cleaning of parts, replacement of o-rings, and lubrication/mold protection treatments.
• General maintaince polishing / cleaning of mold components according to requirements.
• Assist with mold repairs, shipping needs, and with outside mold shops as needed.
• Interpretation of quality defects on parts for mold troubleshooting purposes.
• Troubleshoot issues and process interruptions in collaboration with colleagues from the process, maintenance, and quality departments.
• Support Process Technician Team with mold changes, simple processing, and mold setup as per Mold Shop Leader direction.
• Follow established procedures on using spare parts for repairs and replacements.
• Maintain time spent on each work order in SAP as trained and instructed.
Your Profile
• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Technical certification or associates degree preferred.
• 3+ year's experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience in molding required.
• 3+ years mold maintenance experience or equivalent required.
• Experience in working with mold tooling and its surface finish required (diamond polish paste, fine emery paper, fine stones.)
• Ability to use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gage blocks, and dial indicators required.
• Ability to work with metric unit required.
• Able to work with small dimensions required (in microns of mm.)
• Machining capability and machine shop knowledge preferred (manual mill, manual lathe, surface grinder.)
• General knowledge of wiring and electrical circuity required.
• Ability to read blueprint and technical drawings required.
• Basic computer knowledge such as Microsoft Office required.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must be able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours
• Must have appropriate vision to perform detailed inspections as outlined in SOP
