Job description

Summary Description:
Syntiant Corp., is a leader in the high-growth AI software and semiconductor solutions space. We are seeking a lead Digital Design Engineer who will be designing the digital systems and building blocks for MEMS microphones. Together with the analog/mixed-signal designers, test development engineers and other team members, you will be developing high-performance, low-power ASICs from concept to high-volume production.
Requirements
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop the digital architecture including audio signal path (DSP) and analog-digital interface with the project team.
  • Build complex functional and behavioral models of the systems using Matlab/Simulink, Verilog-AMS, etc.
  • Perform RTL design, synthesis, timing closure, scan pattern generation, power optimization and supervise the RTL-to-GDS flow.
  • Define the digital verification plan.
  • Verify the digital system and blocks in collaboration with the digital verification engineer.
  • Develop low-power audio signal processing architectures.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience Required:
  • Advanced Degree in electronic engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of proven track record in developing digital blocks/systems for high-performance mixed-signal integrated circuits in a consumer or industrial R&D environment.
  • Good understanding of the entire digital design flow and DFT.
  • Experience with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) implementations
  • Hands-on experience in designing low-power digital circuits.
  • Good understanding of most common concepts and metrics used in analog/mixed signal design (Sampling, Quantization, FFT, SNR, THD, etc.)
  • Experience with sigma delta ADCs or audio signal processing.
  • Understanding of the most common limitations and issues of analog circuits (offset, gain error, distortion, etc.) is an advantage.
  • Knowledge in EDA tools such as Cadence Digital EDA suite (Genus, Tempus, Jasper, Voltus, Modus, Conformal etc.) is an advantage.
  • Solid knowledge of Matlab/Simulink environment.
  • Structured and methodological approach.
  • Strong team player.
  • Good spoken and written communication skills in English.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting base pay for this role is targeted to be between $190,000 - $240,000. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Syntiant, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range. We recognize that the person(s) we select for hire may be less experienced or more experienced than the role as posted; if this is the case, any updates to available salary ranges will be communicated with candidates during the recruitment process.
