Outside Sales Representative - Modular Solutions

Sunbelt Rentals--the fastest growing rental business in North America--is seeking an Outside Sales Representative. As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for generating profitable business from the range of equipment that your profit center specializes in. You will do this by developing your assigned territory, implementing sales plans to grow business and maintain current customer base, and by helping to build the national Sunbelt branding identity.

Position Responsibilities:

Strategic Sales & Territory Management

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to grow market share within the assigned territory.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities for larger scale/custom modular projects, including commercial buildings, educational facilities, medical spaces and specialty space solutions.

  • Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads and long term project opportunities.

  • Conduct regular territory analysis to identify growth segments, competitive activity, and new business targets.

Sales Support & Quoting

  • Engage with clients, architects, engineers, general contractors, developers and government agencies to understand project requirements and propose modular solutions.

  • Lead discovery conversations related to site conditions, design specifications, building codes, budget constraints, and project timelines.

  • Collaborate with internal design, estimating, engineering, and project management teams to develop preliminary drawings, budget and formal proposals.

  • Present complex modular building solutions and project concepts in a clear compelling manner.

Relationship Building & Account Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-markers, stakeholders, and long-term accounts across territory.

  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to expand market presence.

  • Facilitate pre-construction meetings and ensure seamless communication between customers and internal teams.

Proposal, Pricing & Contracting

  • Develop detailed proposals, RFP responses, cost estimates, scopes of work and contractual terms.

  • Lead negotiations to secure project awards while maintaining profitability and alignment with company guidelines.

  • Manage documentation, approvals, and handoff to project delivery teams following contract execution.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • 3-7 years of sales experience in commercial construction, modular buildings, prefabrication or related industries.

  • Proven success managing long sales cycles and winning complex, high value projects.

  • Strong understanding of construction concepts, building codes and design/build processes.

  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office.

  • Knowledge of architectural plans, specs and estimating processes.

  • Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadliness in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong project management, new business development and customer retention skills is a must.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw a valid conclusion to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Ability to effectively present information to top management.

Base Pay Range: $40,000.00 - 50,000.00

Total compensation package includes base pay, company vehicle, and robust commission plan.
