About the Role
As an AS400 & .NET Project Manager, you will make an impact by leading the delivery of production support services and enhancement initiatives across a portfolio of business-critical applications. You will be a valued member of the technology delivery team, working collaboratively with business stakeholders, technical teams, operations teams, and client partners to drive successful outcomes while supporting modernization initiatives and operational excellence.

In This Role, You Will:
  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of production support and enhancement initiatives for a portfolio of AS400 and .NET applications, ensuring delivery against agreed timelines, scope, and quality expectations.
  • Manage cross-functional teams across onsite and offshore locations, promoting collaboration, transparency, and effective issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee application support operations, including incident management, change requests, service delivery governance, and operational stability.
  • Drive AS400 modernization programs by coordinating migration activities, managing dependencies, and aligning technology solutions with evolving business needs.
  • Partner with stakeholders within the Property & Casualty insurance domain to translate business requirements into actionable delivery plans that support underwriting, policy administration, and claims operations.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered
  • Proven experience leading application support, maintenance, and enhancement projects in enterprise environments.
  • Strong project management experience overseeing multiple concurrent applications, priorities, budgets, and delivery timelines.
  • Hands-on experience working with AS400 (IBM i) environments, including application support, operations, or modernization initiatives.
  • Experience delivering projects involving.NET applications and distributed technology platforms.
  • Strong understanding of incident management, change management, release planning, and service delivery processes.
  • Experience managing globally distributed teams and coordinating stakeholders across multiple locations.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while maintaining operational stability and governance compliance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical execution plans.
  • Experience supporting business processes within the Property & Casualty Insurance industry.

  • Experience leading AS400 modernization, migration, or transformation programs.
  • Knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance platforms, workflows, and business processes.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Project Management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent.
  • Experience managing financial forecasting, budgeting, resource planning, and operational cost optimization.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $65,000 - $117,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
