  • Implement and integrate application server platforms (e.g., WebSphere, WebLogic) within high-availability architectures
  • Perform environment build-outs for new applications, ensuring scalability, resilience, and performance requirements are met
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (application, network, storage, security) to support project delivery and system integration
  • Develop and execute deployment plans, runbooks, and cutover strategies for production releases
  • Automate system provisioning and configuration using Ansible, shell scripting, or similar tools
  • Conduct performance validation, tuning, and capacity planning during and after implementation
  • Implement security controls, system hardening, and compliance requirements as part of build processes
  • Support data center migrations, cloud/hybrid transitions, and platform transformations
  • Produce and maintain engineering documentation, including build standards, architecture diagrams, and implementation guides
  • Provide post-implementation knowledge transfer to operations teams and limited escalation support

You will be successful in this role if you have:

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree and 6-8 years' relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Extensive hands-on experience with UNIX environments, with a strong focus on system build and deployment activities
  • Proven experience delivering infrastructure or platform implementation projects in enterprise environments
  • Strong expertise in Linux (RHEL, CentOS, or equivalent) in build, migration, and integration scenarios
  • Experience with application server deployment and configuration (e.g., WebSphere, WebLogic)
  • Demonstrated ability to execute system migrations, upgrades, and large-scale rollouts
  • Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code practices (Ansible, shell scripting, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of system performance tuning, validation, and troubleshooting during project delivery
  • Familiarity with enterprise security standards and implementation of hardened builds
  • Experience working in regulated or highly controlled enterprise environments
  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware) and enterprise storage solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with IBM Power Systems and AIX-specific project implementations
  • Exposure to cloud or hybrid infrastructure deployments (Azure, AWS)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Experience in data center migrations or workload relocations
  • Knowledge of ITIL change and release management processes

Key Competencies

  • Strong project execution and delivery mindset
  • Ability to translate requirements into technical designs and implementation plans
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving during high-impact deployments
