The Opportunity: We are seeking a Senior Research Consultant with experience designing and managing research projects for clients in the insurance and financial services industry, to join our Applied Research Solutions team. This role is client-facing and will lead end-to-end custom research engagements, from design, to execution, through insight delivery.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead and execute custom research engagements from start to finish including scoping, proposal development, methodology design, vendor selection, data collection, analysis, reporting, and presentation of results, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Leverage industry expertise to partner with clients to understand business challenges and translate them into actionable research plans and deliverables that align with the client's business needs.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data and synthesize into clear, strategic insights.
  • Write research reports and deliver presentations of findings and implications to senior client stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Provide strategic consultation to help clients understand the research questions and methodologies to address key business challenges.
  • Leverage category expertise to influence client's thinking on research design, insights and implications, as well as overall business decision making.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle and facilitate client meetings, presentations, and discussions, ensuring expectations are clear and well-managed.
  • Participate in discovery calls with prospects and develop compelling proposals.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and vendors as needed to ensure smooth research execution.
  • Provide resources and coaching to internal teams on best practices in survey design, analysis, and visualization, and support troubleshooting of fielding issues and advanced studies.

What You Bring:
  • 7+ years of market research experience on the supplier side, with a focus on insurance and/or financial services.
  • Strong expertise in both quantitative (e.g. surveys, segmentation, competitive benchmarking, and advanced methodologies like conjoint and MaxDiff) and qualitative (e.g. IDIs, focus groups, bulletin boards) research.
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex research projects and client relationships independently and collaboratively.
  • Skilled in data analysis and synthesis, with the ability to translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at translating data into insights both verbally and in report writing, with well-developed interpersonal and presentation skills to senior level clients.
  • Proficiency in research tools and data visualization platforms (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Qualtrics, SPSS, DisplayR, MarketSight, Tableau, R, etc.), including experience with AI tools to facilitate research design, execution, and analysis.
