MANTECH seeks a talented and experienced Modeling and Systems Engineer (MBSE) to join our team on-site in Crane, IN. This is an onsite position.
Join ManTech's advanced systems engineering team to modernize U.S. Navy capabilities as a MBSE Expert. In this critical role, you will utilize SysML v2 and various modeling tools to design and analyze complex, multi-domain systems from concept through deployment. You will be responsible for creating and managing the authoritative digital model, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design architectures, and ensure seamless system integration, leveraging your strong background in systems engineering and passion for modern MBSE methodologies.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Using Cameo Systems Modeler to build high-fidelity SysML v2 models of Navy/Defense platforms, systems, and processes
  • Creating and developing novel approaches to integrate SysML v2 models of Navy/Defense platforms, processes and procedures
  • Designing and developing high fidelity simulations using COTS, GOTS, and open-source simulation tools such as Ansys STK; Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM); Integrated Threat Analysis and Simulation Environment (ITASE); and Next Generation Threat System (NGTS)
  • Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from simulations to inform decision-making
  • Performing quality assurance reviews of models and other work products
  • Maintaining configuration management of models and model repositories
  • Working with cross-functional teams to translate system requirements into detailed, verifiable models
  • Utilizing and potentially contributing to the development of SysML v2 tooling and APIs
  • Performing model analysis, simulation, and validation to ensure system integrity and performance
  • Documenting system designs and architectures clearly and concisely
  • Up to 25% travel to CONUS locations

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar field from an ABET-accredited program
  • 4+ years of experience with modeling and simulation tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler, Ansys STK, MATLAB, Sparx Enterprise Architect, or open-source alternative)
  • Strong proficiency in at least one prior modeling language, such as SysML v1.x, UML
  • Experience with systems engineering principles and the MBSE approach

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience with at least one of the following mission-level simulation and analysis tools: AFSIM (Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling), Experience in building and running force-on-force simulations, STK (Systems Tool Kit), Hands-on experience modeling and analyzing aerospace systems, including orbits, sensor coverage, and mission planning, ITASE (Integrated Threat Analysis and Simulation Environment), Experience in modeling and analyzing threats in a simulated environment, or NGTS (Next Generation Threat System), Experience with this specific threat simulation and analysis framework
  • Experience with shipboard control systems, operational technology, and/or network infrastructure
  • Experience with tool integration and programming languages such as Python or Java for scripting and
  • Familiarity with other systems engineering standards and practices (e.g., ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288)
  • Experience in the defense industry

Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active TS/SCI

Physical Requirements:
  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
