Job Title: Control Software Engineer-Simulation

Working Pattern: Full-time

Working location: West Lafayette, IN (Hybrid Work Schedule)

Rolls-Royce is looking for a Control Software Engineer-Simulation to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on flagship Rolls-Royce programs and play a vital role in solving some of the most complex and interesting technological challenges in the industry while being part of a global, multi-disciplinary team.

As a Control Software Engineer-Simulation, you will be part of a multidiscipline team responsible for the development, testing and continuous integration of the hardware and software test environment used in the development and qualification of electronic engine control software and hardware-in-the-loop investigations.

You will be involved at all stages of a project lifecycle from concept development, integrated/component testing through final production release and maintenance. You'll usually work in project teams with colleagues in other branches of engineering.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 1+ year of software engineering experience OR
  • Master's degree Aerospace, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or Electrical Engineering OR
  • PhD in degree Aerospace, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Requirements:

  • Strong software development skills in areas such as: C/C++, Python, CMake, Bash, Simulink, Continuous Integration/Automation (e.g. Jenkins), UNIX shell, or similar
  • Modelling, Simulation, and Control System experience
  • Knowledge in software design patterns and software testing framework
  • Familiarity with Embedded Systems Architecture and Design
  • Knowledge of electronics (sensors, actuators, and processors)
  • Understanding of UNIX, Windows OS, and build environments
  • Hardware (electronics/circuits) troubleshooting experience
  • Current (or ability to obtain/maintain) US DOD Secret or Top-Secret security Clearance
  • Ability to present technical data to senior engineers and management
