D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Mobile Software Engineer II. The right candidate independently develops and maintains mobile applications while contributing to application architecture, performance optimization, and technical improvements. This position collaborates across technical teams to deliver reliable mobile solutions that support business objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Design and develop new mobile application functionality
  • Build reusable application components and shared libraries
  • Integrate mobile applications with REST APIs, cloud services, and third-party SDKs
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement software enhancements
  • Perform peer code reviews and recommend improvements
  • Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Participate in technical design discussions and sprint planning
  • Maintain technical documentation and development standards
  • Evaluate new development tools and technologies
  • Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
  • Ability to travel

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years of professional software development experience
  • Demonstrates expertise in mobile application architecture, including navigation, deep linking, state management, and offline storage strategies.
  • Leverages modern tooling such as Expo, EAS, and CI/CD pipelines to streamline development, testing, and deployment.
  • Familiarity with mobile analytics, monitoring, and observability tools
  • Experience with Expo ecosystem (EAS, Expo Router, OTA updates) preferred
  • Experience developing mobile applications
  • Experience integrating backend services
  • Knowledge of mobile application architecture and software design principles
  • Skill in troubleshooting and resolving application defects
  • Ability to manage multiple development assignments while meeting project deadlines
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form or via DRH applications
  • Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision
  • The noise level is generally moderate
